(In South Africa) Over 200 Vapes and Weapons Seized at Ekurhuleni School


Ekurhuleni police have confirmed the seizure of more than 200 vapes, along with knives, knuckle dusters, matchboxes, lighters, and other dangerous items, at Belvedere School in Benoni.

The discovery followed a coordinated operation by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD), which deployed officers and K9 sniffer dogs to conduct a surprise search.

Learners were subjected to body searches while classrooms and school bags were thoroughly inspected. Authorities say the operation was aimed at curbing the rise of illegal substances and dangerous weapons infiltrating schools.


Officials have warned that such searches will continue across the city as part of a broader campaign to ensure learner safety and discipline within educational environments.
