Ghana's Philanthropic Billionaire: Ibrahim Mahama Funds Toddler's $70,000 Surgery

 

Ibrahim Mahama is making waves in Ghana because the billionaire entrepreneur and younger brother of President John Dramani Mahama is yet again receiving outpourings of praise and gratitude for his display of generosity towards a toddler.


The businessman has fully funded a $70,000 surgery for one-and-a-half-year-old Phoebe, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

The ailing child had been receiving care at The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital before she was referred to India for emergency treatment which includes chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. 

Ibrahim Mahama's sponsorship of Phoebe's medical expense comes after her mother, Victoria Amissah, appealed to the public for help.
