New 'Alligator Alcatraz' Facility to House Up to 5,000 Migrants in Florida Everglades

 



Alligator Alcatraz is making waves in The US because that's the informal name of the new migrant detention facility, which will be commissioned in Florida today.

President Donald Trump will be joining Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis alongside other politicians to oversee the opening of the detention facility, which reportedly earned its name from the wildlife surrounding it.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said during a press conference on Monday, June 30, that "Alligator Alcatraz" is a new, temporary migrant detention facility that will house, process, and deport illegal immigrants.
