Ghanaian Boxer Bahubali Dies at 32 After Stroke Linked to Fight Injuries

Ghana’s boxing community is in mourning following the sudden death of Ernest Akushey, widely known as Bahubali, who passed away at age 32 in the early hours of September 23, 2025. Reports indicate that the fast-rising boxer suffered a fatal stroke, believed to be linked to head injuries sustained during his final bout at the Bukom Boxing Arena on September 13, 2025. 

The devastating loss has sparked grief across the nation, with fans and fellow boxers paying tribute to the Chorkor-born fighter known for his explosive style in the super middleweight and light heavyweight divisions.
