Trump Weighs Pardons for Men Convicted in Gretchen Whitmer Kidnapping Plot

 



Gretchen Whitmer is making waves in The US because President Donald Trump has revealed that he'll "take a look" at pardoning the men who were convicted of "plotting" to kidnap the Michigan governor in the year 2020.


President Trump referred to the trial, which resulted in two convictions and two guilty pleas, as a "railroad job" where some people said some "stupid things."

On October 8, 2020, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced the arrests of 13 men suspected of orchestrating a domestic terror plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer, the Governor of Michigan.

The kidnap motive was determined to be retaliation for the perceived manner in which the governor handled the COVID-19 pandemic in the state of Michigan.
