Remi Tinubu Donates Bags of Rice to Oyo Residents

 First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed 1,750 bags of rice to the less privileged and vulnerable residents of Oyo state. The First Lady in collaboration with the wife of the Oyo state governor, donated the bags of rice on Tuesday, 30 July, to widows, orphans, physically challenged and elderly residents across 33 local government areas in Oyo state, in a bid to mitigate the economic hardship and starvation in the country.

Representing Mrs Tinubu, First Lady of Oyo state, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, said the “Renewed Hope Initiative Women Agriculture Support, Education and Social Investment Programme” was part of the federal government’s efforts to alleviate poverty and hunger. Mrs Makinde stated  that the federal government was committed to ensuring that no Nigerian goes to bed hungry, hence the distribution of the rice.The governor's wife urged beneficiaries to make good use of the rice and prayed for the country’s economic situation to improve soon.
