Controversial plastic surgeon and CEO of MedContour Medical and Laser Hospital, Dr Anuoluwapu(Anu) Adepoju, has passed away at the age of 36. It is alleged that the plastic surgeon who was involved in a series of legal battle over botched surgeries on her patients, died after a prolonged illness. According to a stories making the rounds on Instagram alongside a photo of Dr. Anu in her last days, it is rumoured that the surgeon's arm was severely damaged as a result of using “cocktail drugs.”

In May 2024, the now deceased cosmetic surgeon and her medical services was convicted on a 5 count charge of negligence and manslaughter, following the death of a certain Nneka Onwuzuligbo after a botched surgery in the year 2020. Dr Anu was handed a jail term of 1 year with an option of fine in the sum of 100,000 naira by the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.
