Soldier Dismissed for Sleeping with Colleague's Wife

 A soldier identified as Abdullahi Ismail has been relieved of his duties and dismissed from the Nigerian Army for sleeping with the wife of another military man. According to reports, Abdullahi Ismail who until his dismissal had been a Lance Corporal stationed in Biu, Borno state, had had an infamous history of sexual indiscipline. The identity of the woman with whom Abdullahi Ismail had been engaging in an illicit relationship is currently unknown to the public.

Investigation conducted by the Nigerian Army led to the dismissal of Lance Corporal Ismail with his conduct deemed exceedingly indisciplined for a soldier. The dismissed soldier's act of engaging in sexual relations with the spouse of a fellow military officer, violates Sections 79 and 93 of the Armed Forces Act CAP A20, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. This legislation stipulates both imprisonment and a dishonourable dismissal from service with consequences for such actions.
