Kano Senator Donates Clay Pots to Constituents

 Netizens have expressed shock and hilarity at the gifts of 500,000 clay pots and 500,000 pieces of white fabric donated to constituents of the Kano Central District by their representative, Senator Rufai Hanga. The donation of the clay pots and yards of white fabric is reportedly to meant to assist the residents of the constituency with the burial processes for their deceased relatives. The senator's seemingly unusual gift is said to be in conformity with the traditional Muslim rites observed in the North.

Senator Rufai Hanga whose constituency extends to 15 local government areas in Kano state, declared that the donations were in response to his constituents frequent demands for assistance with burial materials. In addition to the clay pots and yards of white fabric, Senator Hanga donated 1 pickup vehicle and 20 caskets as his contribution towards the burial rites of deceased residents in the local government areas under his constituency.
