Nigerian Male Arrested Alongside Vietnamese Wife for Fraud

 A 28 year old Nigerian male named Eneh Davidson Caleb, has been arrested by the Vietnamese authorities on allegations of fraud. Eneh Davidson Caleb was arrested alongside his 35 year old Vietnamese wife Nguyen Thi Thanh and 11 other suspects in Ho Chi Minh City for the alleged establishment of over 250 companies in order to engage in money laundering and illegal trafficking on behalf of other criminals overseas. The multiple arrests took place on Saturday 27th April, 2024.

According to the police, the suspects hacked emails from foreign companies to steal information about their economic transactions and contracts. They proceeded to create phony emails with similar names as the companies’ partners to contact and inform them about changes to trading accounts leading the victims to transfer various sins of money to the fake accounts created by these fraudsters. An initial investigation showed the total illegal transactions were estimated to be at more than VND13 trillion.
