Ghana Mourns Helicopter Crash Victims at State Funeral in Independence Square





A solemn state funeral is being held today at Independence Square in Accra to honor eight Ghanaians who tragically lost their lives in a military helicopter crash on August 6. The interdenominational service will commemorate Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, former Obuasi East parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, NDC Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah. Following the ceremony, their burial will take place at the Military Cemetery in Tse Addo.

Two other victims, Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed and Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, were laid to rest on August 10 in accordance with Islamic traditions. The nation unites in grief to pay tribute to these distinguished individuals at this significant event.
