President Yoweri Museveni is making waves with ANT and PFF in Uganda because both opposition groups have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to coordinate efforts ahead of the 2026 general election.
This alliance is part of a wider strategy by Uganda’s opposition to challenge Museveni’s prolonged hold on power.
The ANT and PFF leaders say the move strengthens their unified push to bring political change to Uganda.

The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) and People’s Front for Transition (PFF) believe that a coordinated campaign increases their chances of defeating Museveni, who has ruled Uganda since 1986.
The MoU sets the groundwork for shared strategies, resource mobilisation, and joint messaging.
Opposition figures continue to call for unity and transparency as they rally more parties and citizens ahead of the highly anticipated 2026 elections.
