Liverpool Reject Bayern’s €67.5M Bid for Luis Díaz
Liverpool have firmly rejected a €67.5 million offer from Bayern Munich for winger Luis Díaz. The German club submitted the formal bid on July 15, 2025, after making an informal approach weeks earlier. However, the proposal was seen by Liverpool as significantly below their valuation of the Colombian international. Díaz has been an important player for Liverpool since arriving from Porto in 2022 and remains a key figure in Jürgen Klopp’s squad. While the club is not actively seeking to sell him, they are aware that his market value is rising and could potentially reconsider their stance if an offer of around €100 million is submitted. Four sources indicate that Díaz would be open to joining Bayern, which could influence how talks develop in the coming weeks.
Bayern Munich are expected to return with an improved bid. Their interest in Díaz has intensified in the wake of a major setback the long-term injury to star midfielder Jamal Musiala. The German international suffered a fractured fibula and a dislocated ankle during the Club World Cup on July 9, ruling him out of action for several months. As a result, Bayern have identified Díaz as their primary attacking target to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season. Despite the initial rejection, they remain confident of persuading Liverpool, especially with Díaz’s openness to the move.
Liverpool are aware that Bayern were prepared to spend over €100 million earlier this summer to sign Florian Wirtz. That offer never materialized as Wirtz ended up joining Liverpool in a club-record £116 million move from Bayer Leverkusen on June 20. This precedent may strengthen Liverpool’s negotiating position with Díaz.

Aside from Bayern Munich’s growing interest in Luis Díaz, there is also attention from Saudi Arabia. Pro League side Al-Nassr is closely monitoring the situation, showing continued interest in Premier League stars. Saudi clubs have demonstrated a willingness to pay premium fees for top players in their prime. Earlier this year, Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes who is two years older than Díaz was valued at around €100 million by Saudi clubs during discussions with Al-Hilal. While Fernandes ultimately turned down the offer, the valuation highlights how players of Díaz’s age and quality are viewed in the current transfer market.
This market context supports Liverpool’s strong negotiating stance. They see no reason to accept an undervalued offer, particularly for a player who has been crucial to their attacking play. Díaz’s blend of technical ability, speed, and work rate makes him a standout performer in the Premier League. The fact that Bayern were prepared to pay over €100 million for another Bundesliga star, Florian Wirtz, only further solidifies Liverpool’s demand for a premium fee. Wirtz’s arrival at Anfield for a club-record sum indicates that Liverpool are not shy about spending big, nor will they settle for less when selling key assets.
Díaz’s potential transfer could now hinge on how much Bayern are willing to stretch financially. With Musiala injured and Díaz open to the move, there is incentive on both sides to revisit talks. However, unless Bayern come back with a substantially improved offer closer to €100 million Liverpool are expected to stand firm. Meanwhile, Al-Nassr’s interest remains in the background, and although Díaz prefers European football for now, the Saudi interest serves as a reminder of his increasing global value. The next few weeks will be critical in determining his future.
