The order for an investigation was confirmed in a statement released by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele. The Army Chief stated that transparency is essential, and findings from the probe will be made public. This move is in line with the military’s commitment to accountability and proper welfare for its personnel.

The statement also emphasized the Nigerian Army’s dedication to improving soldier welfare under the "Soldier First" initiative. This concept prioritizes the health, dignity, and readiness of soldiers and their families. It is aimed at ensuring troops remain motivated and fully prepared to carry out their constitutional duties.

General Oluyede stressed that while complaints are valid, they must be channeled through official procedures. Resorting to social media or other unauthorized platforms goes against military discipline and ethics.

In response to the video, the Nigerian Army reaffirmed its ongoing efforts to improve conditions for its personnel. The "Soldier First" policy remains central to these efforts. It ensures that soldier welfare including that of their families is the top priority. The Army emphasized its goal of maintaining a well-trained, motivated, and combat-ready force capable of executing its duties in a joint and multi-agency environment.

The army has reiterated that the use of unauthorized channels like social media to voice operational grievances is inappropriate and a breach of military ethics. Soldiers are expected to follow internal systems for reporting welfare or operational concerns. This is essential not only for maintaining order and discipline but also for ensuring such matters are properly addressed without compromising military integrity.

The army's leadership also pledged to continue fostering a culture of integrity, strong leadership, and institutional accountability. It assured the public and service members that the well-being of troops will not be compromised. General Oluyede’s administration is determined to uphold professional standards while transforming the military into a more effective and soldier-focused institution.

In conclusion, the army has taken the complaints seriously and promised transparency, while reminding personnel to remain disciplined and follow established procedures for raising concerns.
