Uganda Celebrates: First Lady Janet Museveni Marks 77th Birthday with Tributes and Praise

 


Uganda's First Lady, Janet Kataaha Museveni affectionately known as Maam, celebrates her 77th birthday. 

President Yoweri Museveni honoured her with a heartfelt tribute on social media, praising her strength during Uganda’s liberation struggle and her enduring dedication to children’s welfare and education.

Ugandans across the country are celebrating her legacy and immense contribution to the nation’s growth and unity.

Born on June 24, 1948, Janet Museveni played a crucial role while raising her children alone during the 1981–1986 liberation war. 

She later became a key voice in social development, especially in education and youth empowerment. 


President Museveni referred to her as “Ginga, Mummy, Maama” in his birthday message, reflecting her nurturing role both in their family and in Uganda’s national story.
