Russian Attacks Kill Five in Zaporizhzhia and Injure Several in Kharkiv, Regional Officials Say Amid ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Russian shelling and drone strikes have resulted in multiple casualties and damages. According to regional officials, five people were killed in the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, and several others were injured in the Kharkiv region early Monday. In Zaporizhzhia, Ivan Fedorov reported on Telegram that three women lost their lives as a result of Russian shelling targeting the village of Ternuvate, east of the city. The strikes also damaged a shop and several homes. Additionally, a man was killed in a nearby district by a guided aerial bomb, and nine people in total were injured. A private residence was destroyed in the process.

In the Kharkiv region, a drone attack injured at least six, including two children, according to Oleh Sinehubov, the regional governor. Several buildings across the regions sustained damage during the attacks. These recent strikes occur as Russia and Ukraine prepare for upcoming peace negotiations aimed at ending the nearly three-year-long conflict. Despite diplomatic efforts, the fighting continues unabated in many parts of Ukraine, underscoring the ongoing volatility and human cost of the conflict.
