Israeli airstrikes have escalated in Gaza, killing at least 72 people since Sunday morning, including those seeking food at aid centers. Reports from medical sources indicate that the bombardments targeted several areas across the Gaza Strip, including Gaza City and northern regions. One of the worst-hit locations was al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, where dozens of injured civilians, including children, were rushed for treatment. However, medical facilities are struggling due to shortages in supplies and an overwhelming number of casualties.
The violence intensified as the Israeli military dropped leaflets in parts of Gaza City, ordering civilians to move south, only for these areas to be bombarded soon after. In addition to the mounting death toll, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have been shooting at crowds near food distribution hubs. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is involved in limited aid distribution, has faced repeated Israeli military aggression, with more than 580 people killed and thousands wounded near these centers.
Amid this dire situation, reports indicate that the most vulnerable, including babies and toddlers, are suffering due to malnutrition. Volunteer medical workers have expressed shock over the severe lack of nutrients and medical supplies, with some hospitals unable to treat newborns due to a shortage of baby formula. As the crisis deepens, Gaza's civilian population is caught in a brutal cycle of violence and deprivation.
