(In UK) Bob Vylan's Antisemitic Comments at Glastonbury Draw Sharp Criticism

UK-based musician Bob Vylan has sparked controversy at Glastonbury 2025 with comments perceived as antisemitic, drawing widespread criticism. Many interpreted his remarks as targeting Israel and its military, the IDF.

The BBC, which livestreamed the event, issued a public apology and removed the performance from its platform.

The controversy has reignited debates on free speech, anti-Zionism, and where to draw the line between protest and hate speech.

The BBC admitted it should have cut the stream during the performance but only displayed a warning instead.

While some defended Bob Vylan’s right to speak out, many, including Jewish advocacy groups, condemned the rhetoric as inciting hatred.

Bob Vylan, who chanted “death to the IDF,” reportedly had his visa revoked by the U.S. Department of State and will not be allowed to enter the United States.
