President Yoweri Museveni’s three-day tour of Greater Mpigi, encompassing Mpigi, Gomba, and Butambala districts, has sparked widespread praise as he evaluates the success of the Parish Development Model (PDM). The initiative, designed to uplift grassroots communities, is being hailed for its role in reducing poverty through financial aid, skills training, and improved market access.

The PDM has disbursed over UGX 33 billion across the three districts, with Mpigi receiving UGX 14.4 billion, Gomba UGX 12.6 billion, and Butambala UGX 6.428 billion, allocated based on parish distribution. Museveni’s visit underscores his commitment to monitoring and advancing the PDM’s progress, ensuring sustainable development at the grassroots level.
