(In Britain) Joshua warns Paul after knockout taunt

British-Nigerian boxing icon Anthony Joshua has sent a firm warning to American YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, following a taunt about Joshua’s past knockout defeats. Jake Paul, in a recent interview, revealed that he and Joshua exchanged private messages earlier in the year. During that conversation, Paul mocked Joshua’s losses, particularly his knockout defeats. However, the trash talk provoked a serious response from Joshua.

Paul recounted that Joshua’s last message to him was ominous, saying something to the effect of, “I can’t wait to fight. You’re gonna be fighting for your life and you’ll know the feeling that I’ve gone through.” According to Paul, that message marked the end of their conversation.

The growing tension between the two fighters has sparked rumors and speculation about a potential matchup in the near future. Paul even said he would welcome the opportunity to fight Joshua in the UK, despite the crowd likely being against him. “My first fight was in front of an English crowd and it’s rowdy,” Paul said. “Me versus Anthony Joshua, 100,000 people chanting against me would be fun.”

Joshua, who is recovering from elbow surgery, has been inactive since his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September. Despite his absence from the ring, Joshua remains one of the most feared names in heavyweight boxing.

Jake Paul continues to blur the line between influencer entertainment and serious boxing. His recent performances, including his victory over boxing legend Mike Tyson in a widely viewed exhibition match, have kept him in the spotlight. Though the Tyson bout attracted criticism due to Tyson’s age, it drew more than 100 million viewers on Netflix, proving Paul’s massive reach.

Paul’s most recent fight, however, showed his progress in the ring. He defeated former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in a dominant display, winning by points and improving his record further. With this victory, Paul is now aiming for more serious contention in the boxing world.

Following his win, Paul said he would evaluate his next steps based on how the WBC and WBA rank him. If he gets a position that puts him in contention for a world championship, Paul claims he’s ready to chase the belt.

Despite the criticism, Paul’s ambition is clear. And with his name now tied to Anthony Joshua’s in recent media stories, a potential bout between the two – though unlikely by traditional boxing standards – continues to gain momentum.

Whether or not such a fight materializes, the growing animosity and the contrasting paths of both men have grabbed public attention. Joshua, known for his discipline and record, facing off against a disruptive entertainer-turned-boxer like Paul would be one of the sport’s biggest spectacles – if it ever happens.
