Deadly Clashes Erupt in Bawku, Ghana: Ethnic Tensions Spark Violence as MP’s Home Burned, Police Station Attacked.

 

Bawku is trending in Ghana because that's the town where a clash between the Kusasi youth security services occurred as a result of access to markets.

The clash which marks the latest in a series of conflict in Bawku, a town that has experienced lingering unrest for many years, left 1 person dead, several others injured with the police station, a police vehicle and the commissioner's residence in Kpalwega burned.

Mahama Ayariga is now trending because the Member of Parliament has released a statement concerning the violent clash between the Kusasi youths and police, which culminated in the burning of his house.

In his release, Ayariga who acknowledged the frustration of the Kusasi youths, implored that they remain calm and trusting in the peace process being led by the town's traditional ruler.

The MP also debunked claims insinuating that he intends to seek retribution for his razed house.
