The National Unity Platform (NUP) is grieving the loss of its Deputy President for Western Uganda, Jolly Mugisha, who passed away at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital on [date].
Mugisha, a seasoned politician and ardent advocate for democratic change, died after a brief illness, sources close to the family revealed. The cause of death remains undisclosed.
NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, expressed shock and grief over Mugisha's passing. "I'm deeply saddened by the loss of my brother, friend, and comrade, Jolly Mugisha. His dedication to our struggle for a better Uganda was unwavering," Kyagulanyi stated.

Mugisha played a pivotal role in mobilizing support for the NUP in Western Uganda. Her contributions to Uganda's opposition movement were immense, earning him respect across party lines.
"We've lost a true patriot, a champion of democracy, and a passionate advocate for the rights of the marginalized," said Kyagulanyi.
NUP Secretary-General David Lewis Rubongoya described Mugisha as "a selfless leader who dedicated his life to the fight for freedom and justice in Uganda."
Tributes poured in from politicians across the spectrum. Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago said, "The news of Jolly Mugisha's passing has left me in shock. He was a strong voice for the voiceless and a true champion of democracy."
Democratic Party President Norbert Mao lamented, "A great loss to Uganda's democratic struggle."
Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) President Mugisha Muntu echoed, "Jolly Mugisha was a true hero."
Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga added, "His selflessness and commitment will never be forgotten."
The NUP has vowed to continue Mugisha's legacy. "Jolly's passing leaves a void, but his spirit and conviction will continue to inspire us to fight for a better Uganda," Kyagulanyi assured.
Mugisha's family, friends, and colleagues have received an outpouring of condolences. "We stand with the Mugisha family during this difficult time and pray for strength and comfort," Rubongoya said.
The NUP will announce funeral arrangements soon.
