BREAKING: Ibrahim Babangida Dies

 Tragic news has emerged of the passing of former Nigerian international soccer star, Ibrahim Babangida.



 A standout player in Nigeria's Under 17 team at the 1993 FIFA World Cup in Japan, Ibrahim died last night in a fatal car accident on the Kaduna-Zaria Road.

 His elder brother, Tijani Babangida, a former Nigerian international and current President of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), survived the crash without injuries, while his wife was injured. 


Ibrahim had a distinguished career, playing for NUB FC Kaduna, Stationery Stores FC of Lagos (also known as the Flaming Flamingoes), and representing Nigeria in Under 17 and Under 20 competitions.


 The family will announce funeral arrangements in due course.
