Bianca Ojukwu Granted Control of Husband's Assets by High Court

 A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja in the decade long litigation over control of assets left behind by late Biafran president Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, ruled in favour of his widow Bianca Odimegwu Ojukwu and her two sons. The late Ojukwu's will which left most of his assets to Bianca, has generated a great deal of controversy and disaffection among several members of the large Ojukwu family. Bianca's current High Court victory over her brother-in-law is in respect to shares of the company, Ojukwu Transport Limited.

The suit, LD/1539/2012, filed by Bianca on behalf of the claimants, her two sons, Afamefuna and Nwachukwu (who were young children at the time of their father's date in 2011) against Ojukwu Transport Limited and seven others (brothers of the late Dim Ojukwu, their sons and property agent) before the court, was over alleged move by the defendants to take possession of claimants residence at No. 29 Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos, as well as some of the company’s property in Lagos, which were under the management and control of their late Biafran warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu.The court presided over by Justice A. M. Lawal, delivered its judgement on June 24 2023, ruled that the claimants being biological children of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu were by that virtue, entitled to the remnants of their father's estate.
