Iran Executes Man Accused of Spying for Israel

Tinubu, Atiku Can't Be Declared Winner As Both Did Not Get The Required Percentage In The FCT

Nigerians have been tensed over the ongoing announcement of the 2023 Presidential election at the National Collation Centre, Abuja.

Recall that yesterday, February 27th, party agents comprising Labour Party and the People's Democratic Party stormed out of the Collation Centre over the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) breach of its regulations in its conduct of the presidential election.

Consequently, international observers such as E.U and U.S have in their preliminary report on the presidential election, stated that INEC failed to follow its guides stipulated for the transmission of the results directly to its server from the polling units. The observers further described the process as lacking transparency.

Interestingly, both the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) have failed to meet the constitutional 25% of votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. This implies that it's now unconstitutional for INEC to declare the candidates of PDP nor APC winner of the 2023 presidential election as neither met the constitutional requirement of garnering 25% of votes cast in the FCT.

The official results show that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi polled the majority votes : 62%, APC: 20%, and PDP: 16%.
