A woman identified as Blessing Eno has been arrested by the operatives of the Cross River State Police Command for the murder of her 11-month old son.
Mrs. Eno, a mother of two was accused of beheading her son on Tuesday, November 29, 2022.
According to reports, the woman is who is suffering from a mental disorder, took out a matchet and severed the head of the baby, after claiming that the child was disturbing her. She was reported to have said a spirit instructed her to slaughter the boy.

He later raised an alarm that attracted the neighbours to the scene of the incident.
An angry mob was said to have converged at the scene to lynch the woman before the police intervened and took the lady into protective custody.
