"Arrest Tinubu's Daughter" Labour Party Implores Authorities

The Labour Party has called for the arrest and prosecution of the Iyaloja General, Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, who is the daughter of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Mrs Tinubu-Ojo has been accused of pressuring and attempting to intimidate traders to support her father’s presidential campaign.

The Labour Party revealed that the call for Folashade Tinubu-Ojo's arrest was necessitated by a viral video allegedly showing shops of traders who failed to attend the women’s rally in support of Tinubu’s ambition being shut down, noting further, that the affected traders  complained that they were being forced to pay N5,000 as fine. The Labour Party via a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Arabambi Abayomi Oluwafemi, said these  threats and bullying actions negated the tenets of democracy, emphasising that every Nigerian was entitled to associate with any political party of their own choosing.

Arabambi also revealed that the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos has refused to act on calls to create an enabling environment for all politicians in Lagos irrespective of their party’s affiliation. He however, implored members of the party to remain law-abiding, assuring them that the party would do everything legally possible to protect their rights.
