Controversial presidential aspirant of the African Action Congress (AAC) and founder of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has questioned the obvious absence of the APC's presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the signing of the National Peace Accord which took place in Abuja today. Tinubu was the only presidential aspirant who had a representative. He was represented by vice-presidential running mate, Kashim Shettima.
Omoyele Sowore expressed displeasure at the organisers of the Presidential Peace Accord for allowing Kashim Shettima to represent Tinubu as as a presidential aspirant. Sowore also challenged the vice-presidential running mate Kashim Shettima for taking a front seat. According to Sowore, Shettima had no business occupying that position as a result of Tinubu's absence. The aggrieved publisher stated that "You can't be running Nigeria for presidency in Absentia." The goading remark was a direct shot at Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has so far, failed to turn up at every important political meeting, conference and campaign rally geared towards the general elections of 2023.
