In a recent video trending on Twitter, Nigerians who just arrived Dubai, UAE on 31st August 2022, were seen being detained by the country's officials at the airport. Nigerians who tried to protest the ill treatment,were firmly asked to "go outside".
Many Nigerians have wondered why citizens keep travelling to Dubai after the government of the UAE has issued several warnings asking Nigerians to keep away from her country. Chairman/CEO of Nigerian in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, also gave a press release imploring Nigerians to stay away from countries like the UAE and Northern Cyprus as these countries had now become hostile to Nigerians.
