An audio recording of a pastor resident in Port Harcourt city has been released to the public. The audio recording is one of the pastor in an intimate conversation with a 16 year old lover. The pastor has identified as Felix Okpara Duruebube, a 39 year old pastor of Mercy House Church International, an end time ministry located in Eliozu, Port Harcourt.
Pastor Duruebube was remanded in a Port Harcourt correctional centre on June 28, 2022, for sexually defiling the 16 year old teenager. The leaked audio recording is a conversation between him and the teenager. The victim recorded one of their phone conversations without the pastor's knowledge. The heard admonishing the teenager to thoroughly wash her privates, amongst other things, while she told him that the suspected his wife was aware of the relationship.

The accused pastor pled not guilty to a two count charge of defilement and was granted bail by the magistrate. The case was adjourned to 18 August, 2022 as the Rivers state Ministry of Justice has released a statement indicating the state's interest in taking over prosecution proceedings.
