Subsidy Removal is a decade argument that has remained relevant even at present.
The Good Luck Ebele Jonathan's administration in 2012, initiated a plan to stop subsidizing fuel for Nigerians; however, the plan could not see the light of the day as Nigerians took to the street to compel the Jonathan's administration to rescind its subsidy removal decision.
The Muhammadu Buhari's administration which came into effect in 2015 till date, had plotted to secretly remove subsidy on petroleum products which at present, is siphoning outrageous amount from the nation's budget.
Expectantly, Nigerians across states of the Federation including Labour Unions, rebuffed the initiative and threatened shutting down the nation.
Interestingly, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party who wields whooping support among the youth, was caught in between the anvil and the hammer during his latest outing on Arise TV
Despite his attempt to avert giving a "yes" or "no", direct response to whether he would remove Subsidy if elected the president of Nigeria.
