A few days ago, singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, once again garnered negative attention when he claimed to be the leader of the One Million Boys Cult Group. The criminal group gained notoriety in 2020 for armed robbery especially during the lockdown. As a result of these series of negative attention, organisers of the yearly Headies Award have disqualified Portable as one of its nominees.
In a letter released to the public, organisers of The Headies stated that the decision to disqualify the singer as one of the award nominees was as a result of the series of misdemeanours on the singer's part via his social media platforms. The letter also gave instances of these acts of misdemeanour. The letter also indicated that Portable threatened to kill or cause harm to other nominees if he failed to receive the award.

Many Nigerians have expressed satisfaction at this step taken by the organisers of the Headies. They're hopeful that it will serve as a way of making the singer curtail his excesses on social media.
