Medical Doctor Caught Raping Pregnant Woman During C-section

 A 32 year old Brazilian Anaesthetist identified as Giovanni Quinterra Bezerra has been arrested for rape. Dr Bezerra worked at the  Hospital da Mulher in São João de Merit, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The arrest was made after he was secretly filmed pushing his penis into the mouth of an unconscious pregnant woman. In a video making the rounds on social media, the anaesthetist could be seen undoing his fly and assaulting the sedated woman as other unaware doctors performed a C-section on her less than a meter away.

Members of Staff at the hospital became suspicious of Dr Bezerra when he would administer so much anaesthetic that the mothers would be too weak to hold their babies after delivery. His colleagues revealed that  Dr Giovanni usually shielded himself from prying eyes in such a way that he wore an open cloak on himself, widening his silhouette, and positioned himself in a way that also prevented anyone from seeing the patient from the neck up.’ The police praised the hospital team for taking action and recording the crime. They also revealed accused had been transferred to the prison of Benfica after being indicted for rape . If convicted, the doctor faces a prison sentence of 8-15 years in Brazil. 

Reacting to the incident, the Governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro, said: " I was appalled to learn of the brutal case of the anesthesiologist at the Hospital da Mulher, in São João de Meriti, filmed raping a patient. I determined that there should be rigor and speed in the investigation of the very serious complaint. The Government of RJ will provide all necessary support and support to the victim."
