Actor, producer and director Funke Akindele Bello has been declared the running mate to the PDP candidate for the 2023 governorship elections in Lagos state. The gubernatorial candidate is Dr Abdul-Azeeez Olajide Adediran and Mrs Akindele Bello is his deputy.
Nigerians have rightly expressed surprise at this revelation. Many have declared that the timing of the announcement is a bad one. Mrs Akindele Bello has been very much in the news lately. There have been many controversial opinions following the announcement of her estranged husband about their marriage.
Mr Abdulrasheed Bello better known as JJC Skillz, released a message less than a week ago telling fans and the general public that he had moved out of their previously shared property (Amen Estate) at Funke's insistence.
We are not quite sure what to make of this news of her political ambition. One can't help but wonder if her husband decided to announce their break up in a bid to sabotage her intending political career. After all, he had already vacated the premises a couple of months before his announcement. Why did he wait all this time before announcing the collapse of the marital relationship to the public?
