Caroline Danjuma Set to Contest Deputy Governorship in Akwa Ibom State

 Actor and star of the the reality TV show, The Real Housewives of Lagos, Caroline Danjuma also known as Caroline Ekanem or Carolyna Hutchings has revealed her intention to contest in the forthcoming 2023 elections in Akwa Ibom State. The reality star and actor is contesting the position of deputy governor under a minority political party named African Action Congress (AAC)

Born to a Scottish father and Nigerian mother, Caroline first became known in the Nigerian movie industry as Caroline Ekanem in the year 2004. Her first starring role was in Chico Ejiro's Deadly Kiss. After her marriage to Musa Danjuma in 2007, Caroline who became Caroline Danjuma, reduced her screen appearance and wasn't much heard of until her divorce in 2016. She has two sons and a daughter with her ex-husband. Caroline Danjuma returned to the big screen in a more prominent way in 2022 when she starred in the reality series The Real Housewives of Lagos alongside celebrities like actor Iyabo Ojo, celebrity designer and stylist, Toyin Lawani,  Laura Ikeji amongst others. Caroline earned a reputation for being aggressive while on the show.

Nigerians have wondered if politics has turned into something of a hobby for female Nigerian celebrities as a number of them have stated their intentions to contest in the forthcoming elections. Are they all trying to act out the real life King of Boys? Caroline Danjuma joins the list of celebrities like Funke Akindele and Tonto Dikeh who have also declared their intention to be deputy governors in their respective states. Many Nigerians have also expressed surprise at the realisation that Caroline is from Akwa Ibom state. They have also said that she recently added "Uduak" to one of her many other names in order to "feel among".

We congratulate Ms Hutchings on her intention to serve the good people of Akwa Ibom state and wish her a great deal of luck at the polls come 2023.
