The former governor of Ekiti state, Peter Ayodele Fayose has disclosed that he is set to work against the presidential candidate of his political party ( the People's Democratic Party), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Fayose made the disclosure through his Twitter handle, stating that the party failed to abide by its principles of rotation embedded in the party's constitution.
He said that current president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari comes from the northern part of Nigeria; hence, necessitates that President Buhari's successor comes from the south other than the north, the region of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.
"The current President of Nigeria is a 2-term Northern Presidency, thus implying that it MUST be a Southern Presidency in 2023 or NOTHING. Awa ‘South’ lo kan’ ", he tweeted.
"The PDP Constitution provides for a rotational Presidency. Section 3(c) provides that the Party shall pursue its aims & objectives by 'adhering to the policy of the rotation & zoning of Party & Public elective offices in pursuance of the principle of equity, justice and fairness'".

From the many body language and utterances of the former governor of Ekiti State, it is okay to suggest that Fayose has thrown his weight behind the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the expense of his party's presidential candidate.
This also denotes that his visit to Rivers State a few days ago, was to convince the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu after he was allegedly betrayed by the PDP national leadership.
