An unnamed female student of Novena University, a private Christian owned university in Ogume, Delta State, woke up from her bed to discover a giant snake crawling on her bed in her hostel room.
The female student had unknowingly slept in same bed as the snake, an alleged totem of a deity known as “god of Amai” in Delta state. History has it that the snake is harmless; hence, inviolable by the residents of the community. It is said that whoever killed the snake whether willfully or unknowingly, is required to carry out some rites in honour of the deceased snake, a god in disguise.
However, in the viral video circulated by the roommates of the said student, the students claim that the female student in whose bed the snake was seen, had ignorantly rested her hand on the snake without being hurt by the it.
The texts accompanying the video read:“A student saw this snake on her bed in the early hours of today and she was resting her hand on top of the snake. The snake is said to be be the God’s of Amai a place in delta state. This happened in Novena university.” Watch Video Here
