Bananas & Plantains – Around 185 million tonnes are produced annually, making them the single most grown fruit worldwide.

Watermelons – Roughly 105 million tonnes per year, widely consumed across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.


Apples – About 97 million tonnes, with China as the leading producer.


Grapes – Close to 80–90 million tonnes, used both for eating fresh and for wine production.


Oranges – Around 75–80 million tonnes, heavily cultivated in Brazil, India, and China.

Mangoes, Guavas & Mangosteens (grouped together in production data) – Approximately 55–60 million tonnes annually.


Tomatoes (botanically a fruit, though often classified as a vegetable) – Well over 180 million tonnes, second only to bananas if counted as fruit.
