Nigeria has been thrown into darkness once again after the national grid collapsed, cutting electricity supply almost completely across the country.
Generation reportedly dropped from nearly 3,000 megawatts to just 1.5 megawatts within an hour, sparking widespread outrage among citizens and businesses. The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company confirmed the blackout, citing a system failure.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says restoration efforts are underway, but public confidence remains low as Nigerians question why repeated collapses persist despite government reforms and repeated promises of reliable electricity.
