In Nigeria, the hashtag #JusticeForHadiza has gained massive traction as netizens rally behind Hadiza Musa Baffa, who has accused former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), of repeated sexual assault, rape, and other abuses. Viral videos released by Hadiza starting August 17, 2025, detail her alleged ordeal in 2014, where Turaki reportedly raped her multiple times, forced eight embryo evacuations, and used his influence to intimidate her and her child for years. She claims Turaki is the father of her surviving two-year-old son and has released DNA evidence to support this, while also alleging his involvement in a homosexual relationship with his account officer, Samson Okpetu, and abuse of other victims, including boys and girls.

Hadiza, tearfully recounting her story in follow-up videos, said she confided in a roommate at the time and faces ongoing threats. Turaki has denied the allegations as "spurious, politically motivated, and orchestrated by adversaries," claiming Hadiza's father apologized and she sought forgiveness via WhatsApp. Civic groups like Talk Initiative have rejected his rebuttal, demanding a transparent investigation by security agencies and the justice system to protect Hadiza and her child. The campaign, amplified on social media, highlights broader issues of elite impunity and gender-based violence, with activists calling for legal aid, psychological support, and public condemnation to ensure accountability.
