(In the US) Trump Criticised for Claiming Tylenol Causes Autism

President Donald Trump is facing backlash after declaring that Tylenol causes autism in infants, despite a lack of conclusive scientific evidence. Speaking on Monday in the Oval Office alongside Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump announced that doctors in the U.S. will soon be advised against prescribing the pain reliever to pregnant women.

Trump specifically warned that paracetamol, the main ingredient in Tylenol—also known in the U.S. as acetaminophen—“is no good,” adding that it should only be taken by expectant mothers in cases of extreme fever.

The remarks have triggered sharp criticism from medical experts and public health advocates, who argue that the president’s claims risk spreading misinformation and alarming pregnant women unnecessarily. Scientific consensus continues to attribute autism risk primarily to genetic and environmental factors, not to acetaminophen use.
