Often described as Africa’s hidden treasure, Kidepo Valley is one of Uganda’s most remote and captivating parks, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, and over 470 bird species. For many Ugandans, the free-entry days present a rare opportunity to experience its untamed beauty without financial barriers.

Beyond boosting domestic tourism, the event is designed to deepen public appreciation for Uganda’s natural heritage. By encouraging citizens to engage directly with the wilderness, the government hopes to foster a stronger culture of conservation and pride in the country’s rich biodiversity.
