In emotional videos, Biri Marung claimed he had not received royalties for his hit single of the same name and criticised both DJ Maphorisa and Sony for their handling of his career.

Leaping to their defence, Young Stunna declared that Maphorisa and Sony had “done more than the government to save people’s lives,” insisting that Biri Marung had no right to insult them.

The exchange has sparked heated debate online, exposing underlying tensions within the Amapiano scene about artist rights, royalties, and the influence of powerful record labels.
