Reports that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air may ship with a 2900 mAh battery have sparked a flood of witty reactions across Nigeria. Social media users joked that anyone buying the phone would need a power bank as a constant companion, while others mocked the small size as a “flashlight battery” unfit for a 2025 flagship with 12GB of RAM.
Sarcasm flooded timelines, with Nigerians dubbing the capacity “poverty power” and joking that owners would become “walking NEPA offices” carrying chargers everywhere. Some even suggested Apple is simply repackaging older devices with new designs.
Yet, beyond the battery backlash, excitement remains for the iPhone 17 Air’s cutting-edge features. The device is rumored to sport a sleek 5.5mm titanium body, 6.6-inch OLED 120Hz ProMotion display, A19 Pro chip, 12GB RAM, and upgraded 48MP and 24MP cameras. With Wi-Fi 7, Apple’s C1 modem, and stylish new colors, it still looks every bit a flagship.
