(In Nigeria) Hilda Baci Attempts Guinness World Record with Largest Pot of Jollof Rice


 

In Lagos, excitement is building as celebrity chef and restaurateur Hilda Baci makes her second attempt at a Guinness World Record, this time by cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

Over 20,000 spectators have gathered at the Eko Hotel to witness the feat, which involves preparing 250 bags of rice in a specially designed pot measuring six metres wide and six metres tall. The event is sponsored by food brand Gino, with organizers describing it as both a cultural celebration and a showcase of Nigerian culinary excellence.


Hilda, who previously gained global attention for her marathon cooking attempt, has become a symbol of ambition and resilience in Nigeria’s food scene. Her latest challenge is drawing massive interest online and on the ground, as supporters cheer her on in hopes of seeing jollof rice secure a place in Guinness World Records history.
