(In Nigeria) Finnish Court Sentences Biafran Activist Simon Ekpa to Six Years in Prison


Biafran political activist Simon Ekpa has been sentenced to six years in prison by a Finnish court on terrorism-related offences.

According to court documents, the 40-year-old was convicted of attempting to promote Biafra’s independence through illegal means, including equipping armed groups with weapons and explosives via his network of contacts


Ekpa, who holds dual Nigerian and Finnish citizenship, previously served as a councillor in the Finnish city of Lahti.
