The directive, issued through a circular by the Head of Service, outlines detailed grooming and dressing standards for both male and female employees. Departmental heads have been instructed to ensure strict compliance, with sanctions awaiting those who fail to adhere.
According to the circular, traditional attire will be allowed only on designated days, while certain clothing items such as Papas caps, sleeveless tops, and cleavage-revealing dresses have been prohibited entirely.
Senior officers have been reminded to lead by example by dressing in line with the guidelines. The government says the measure is aimed at restoring decorum, discipline, and a sense of professionalism across the state’s civil service.
