Kenya’s Sarah Moraa has secured a spot in the women’s 800m semi-finals at the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025 after Team Kenya’s appeal was upheld by judges on September 19, 2025. Initially finishing sixth in Heat 4 with a time of 2:01.62, the 19-year-old World Under-20 champion was obstructed by elbowing and pushing during the race, prompting the successful appeal. Her reinstatement keeps three Kenyan athletes. Sarah, defending champion Mary Moraa, and African silver medallist Lilian Odira in contention for medals.
