I&M Bank is receiving attention in Kenya and Uganda for its partnership with Challenger Uganda Limited, a construction firm that credits the bank’s flexible financial support for its expansion over the past two decades.

According to reports, I&M Bank has provided financing solutions, including contract financing and LPO facilities, without requiring security in some cases. This has enabled Challenger to manage projects, meet deadlines, and maintain steady growth.
Founded in 2002 with borrowed capital, Challenger Uganda now serves clients such as Total Energies, MTN, and UNHCR. Managing Director Nduhira Peter Arinaitwe described I&M Bank’s support as critical to the company’s survival and advised entrepreneurs to uphold financial discipline and cultivate strong banking relationships for long-term success.
