A social media campaign titled “Ground 2 Ikulu” is drawing nationwide attention in Kenya as it highlights President William Ruto’s healthcare reforms under the Social Health Authority (SHA).

Launched under Ruto’s administration, the SHA seeks to expand affordable healthcare by subsidizing treatment for chronic diseases, integrating mental health services, and deploying mobile clinics across the country. Beneficiaries have reported medication expenses dropping to below KSh 500 per month, while over 200 mobile units are easing the travel burden for rural patients.

In addition, the authority supports dental and surgical care and promotes digital tools for screenings and telemedicine. Already serving 10 million Kenyans, the program faces rollout challenges but represents a major step toward accessible, bottom-up healthcare reform.
